I wasn’t always who I am today, certainly, I didn’t always believe in myself and that I was capable to achieve my goals. I used to daydream and talk about all of these amazing ideas I had, but was driven away by fear and others’ opinions. Thinking about getting a job, a paycheck, and building a career in something secure, felt like the reasonable thing to do, after all, “people who truly make it is one chance in a million” right?
So I chose a career that I didn’t want, when I finished college I went for something completely different than my profession. In both cases, my decision was based on what I believed was socially and professionally seen as a more “prestigious” career. All of this, to try to prove myself to others.
The opportunity cost? My life, my ambitions, my happiness, my true potential, my purpose. In other words, I set myself and my dreams aside questioning their worthiness.
But one day I asked myself: What would happen if I used all that will of exceeding others’ expectations to exceed my own?
Everything changed when I decided that it was my turn to choose what I wanted to do with my life and was determined to make it work no matter how hard it might be…. And let me tell you, as hard as it is, it is so worth it.
I quit my job and moved to another country with my boyfriend, now husband, best friend, and life companion. I found myself in a new city, with a new language and new faces, trying to adapt, and more importantly trying to put motivation and purpose back into my life.
I went from being an employee to being a non-experienced entrepreneur. I started my own business, I learned things I never thought about such as graphic design, digital marketing, social media, networking, setting up my own schedule and routine, dealing with high and low picks of motivation, etc.
Yes, it is hard, but it’s one of the most priceless feelings to finally put yourself as a priority and show yourself – not anyone else – that you are capable of doing whatever you set yourself up to.
Whether you are a new entrepreneur or trying to decide if this is the right path for you, I want to tell you, I get you, I know how it feels, I’ve been there and I want to help you overcome all the challenges that you are facing and finally thrive.
Remember, there are people that already built the bridge for you to cross, you don’t have to do it yourself. No one should have to do everything alone.
But ONLY YOU have the power to decide and create the future you want to live in, no one else is going to do it for you.
So what do you say if we start this journey together and make it happen?
